Picking A Domain Name

When picking a domain name try and choose something easy to say and
easy to spell. Don't include any hyphens, even though they are allowed
in domain names. Blue-Shift-7.com may look OK on paper, but when
you have to say "Blue hyphen Shift hyphen 7 dot com" you've already
lost them. Dot com (.com) names are preferable but if you can't find
anything available there you should consider dot net (.net) or dot ws
(.ws) assuming that the dot com version is not the same type of site
that you want to make.Domain names can also help significantly with search placement. If you know that there is a search term people will type in more than anything else to find you, then you should consider using them in your domain name pick. Unfortunately most of those really good keywords are taken.

Keyword Research

Before we work on marketing our website we're going to need to do some
research on how to best find our qualified buyers in the internet. The
first thing you're going to want to do is to keyword research. Try and
come up with your own list of keywords first. When building your
initial list you need to think of both keywords that are industry
specific words and terms as well as keywords that the general public
might use in searching for your site. Often times these two lists can
be dramatically different. Industry specific keywords are good because
they often mean more qualified leads. However they are also less
searched then the general public's keywords so its a good idea to have
both in order to get the largest number of visitors. Its very
important for you to be realistic on what keywords you are going to
compete for. The more specific you get your terms the less people will
search for them, but it will be easier to get a good rank for the term
and the traffic will be more qualified. For instance, say you want to
start you own a coffee shop in Decatur, GA and you want to start having
live music. Keywords for people looking for live music might be:General/NationalLive MusicCoffee ShopSpecific/LocalLive Music AtlantaLive Music DecaturCoffee Shop DecaturToo Specific/Not Searched ForLive Music at a Coffee Shop in DecuturIt
doesn't help you to get placed for a search that only your mom would
think to search for like "Jason's Coffee Shop In Decatur Live Music".It
can help to have some of the specific terms for PPC and SEO, but
usually you'll get placed in the Too Specific terms when you target the
Specific terms.Tools#1 Google's Adwords and Analytics also have some wonderful tools that you should explore. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal#2If
the keywords you come up with are very general or will you will be
competing on a national level you can also use Google Trends to compare
keywords to see which ones get more traffic, what cities they search
term is most popular, and the quantity that search is run through out
the year.http://www.google.com/trendsIntegrating keywords into content
Now that you have your basic keywords its important to integrate them
into your site. You can do this easily with your Category and Product
pages. Simply add a single keyword or phrase to the SEO Link and
Headline sections of your pages. You'll also want to try and include these phrases into your content, but only where relevant.
